I encourage wine lovers to stock up on 2019 and younger vintages as soon as possible. Unfortunately, many wineries are facing the fact that the early fires we had in August from lightening strikes were devastating. The smoke from those fires happened at a time in the growing season that caused too much smoke taint to even make it worth it to harvest. Many growers were unable to sell their fruit because the producers just didn’t want the tainted grapes. This means we are going to have a lot less 2020 wines than we had expected.
