Let’s see… I’ve probably tasted at Pangloss (or just stopped in for a glass of wine) 75 times. Since I live close to this tasting room, it’s a blessing and curse! Their wines are my favorite everyday drinking wines. This time I did a lovely sit-down tasting with my mom.
2020 Rose: 60% Grenache, 25% Cinsault, 15% Pinot Noir. Their roses are always great for summer drinking. This one was light and elegant for easy warm-day sipping.
2018 Sauvignon Blanc: Fruit for this wine comes from Sonoma Valley’s Moon Mountain District. It has an old-world stylistic feel to it but is rich enough to remind you it’s from Sonoma. There’s enough acid to make it crisp but it also has a round mouthfeel.
2018 Sparkling Chenin Blanc: This is a first-time venture into sparkling for Pangloss. It is not for those who like traditional Champagne, France-style sparkling wines, but it is very thought-provoking. I recommend this for a fun tasting experience.
Library wines they still have available and are worth getting:
- 2016 Monte Rosso Zinfandel
- 2015 Optimism (Bordeaux inspired blend)
